2012-2013 Stats: 122 Receptions, 1,964 Yards, 5 Touchdowns, 16.1 Yards Per Reception, 92 Receiving First Downs.
Team Season Results: 4-12, No Playoffs
Analysis: A no brainer for number 1 Calvin "Megatron" Johnson is the NFL's very best at the wide receiver position. Last season he continued on his reign of dominance which started in 2010, and kept the fear of his play in the hearts of defensive backs throughout the NFL. However despite his big time individual success (Surpassing Jerry Rice's record for most receiving yards in a season), the team play from his Lions didn't stack up. The Lions have a lot of holes to fill to get back to the playoffs, some of them they have already started filling with the acquisition of running back Reggie Bush who will surely help QB Matt Stafford feel more comfortable within the offense.
With the possibility of the running game improving for the Lions, that will only benefit the production of Megatron. Looking at his skill set no matter what you will see elite play from him starting with his freakish athleticism (6'5'' 235 LBS), underrated speed ,and amazing strength on/off the ground. And if that wasn't bad enough for the opposition his route running, supreme open field moves, and ability to locate/catch the ball at will is all at elite status. I look forward to seeing what Johnson has in store this upcoming season, and I know Lions fans want more of the same.
