Eric Ward has been a valuable playmaker for the Red Raiders during his time in Lubbock. He has been a touchdown machine the past two seasons, recording 11 in 2011 and 12 in 2012. Ward eclipsed the 1,000 yard last year while catching 82 passes. He is expected to challenge to become the premier receiver in the Big 12 this fall.
Ward is a headache for opposing defenses. He is all over the field, as he can line up at any receiving slot and get open. At 6'0", 204lbs, some NFL teams may be scared off by Ward's lack of size. However, the rising senior makes up for it by displaying tremendous speed, hands, body control, and ball skills. He always finds a way to create space from defenders and come down with the football. Watch this season to see if Ward can bring his game to the next level, despite the departure of QB Seth Doege, and improve his draft stock.
