The Braves best month of the season was August, going 17-9 while gaining six games in the Wild Card. August featured Dan Uggla hitting .340 with 10 home runs and 21 RBIs, not to forget impressive pitching performances from Brandon Beachy (5 starts - 3-0, 3.41 ERA in 29 innings) and Tim Hudson (5 starts - 3-1, 2.27 ERA in 25 2/3 innings).

It was also a stellar month for Craig Kimbrel (0 runs in 12 2/3 innings wth 23 K's and 10 saves), with Chipper Jones hitting .359 in 64 at-bats. Mike Minor was 3-0 in 4 August starts while posting a 4.03 ERA.

The biggest surprise of the month was Jose Constanza. Called up at the end of July before Jordan Schafer was traded to Houston, Constanza battled in each of his 73 at bats en route to a .342 batting average with 25 hits, 8 RBIs and 7 steals while scoring 17 runs.
