 John Murphy started his own company – Next Level Scouting, Inc. – in 1999 and quickly became a familiar face in scouting circles with his detailed reports and information to all 32 NFL teams. He previously worked as a U.S. college and pro scout for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, and he has served on the selection committee for the East-West Shrine Game. He also was one of the creative forces behind the 2007 Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Challenge. Murphy is currently on assignment for Yahoo!
Sports as its Prospect and Talent Evaluator. He joined the NFL Draft Bible in 2006 as Executive Vice President.
