08/04/11 - Miami sophomore OT Seantrel Henderson will undergo back surgery on Monday and could miss the entire season. The 6-7, 345-pound Henderson was the #1 recruit in the country last year, but was beaten out for the Hurricanes’ starting LT job this spring by 6-5, 320-pound red shirt freshman Malcolm Bunche. In fact, there were rumblings this spring that Henderson might consider transferring. Henderson will not be eligible for the NFL draft until 2013 at the earliest. Source: GBN Report

09/29/10 - Seantrel Henderson, the 6-8, 355-pound right tackle who came to Miami as the top recruit in the country, has impressed his coaches during the young season playing in the goal-line package. One of his blocks flattened some linemen at Pitt and allowed Damien Berry to score. “He played about six to eight plays and did a nice job,” coach Randy Shannon said. “The more he improves, the more his package expands. If we find a way to use him, we will. Seantrel is a fast learner. He’s very competitive and takes a lot of pride in what he does. I like what he’s doing and the coaches love what he’s doing.” – Miami Herald

08/31/10 - University of Miami top signee Seantrel Henderson, rated the No. 1 incoming freshman in the country, might play some Thursday. Henderson, an offensive tackle listed at 6-8 and 355 pounds (coach Randy Shannon said he has lost some weight), has been doing well in practice, the coach said. On Monday, Henderson played with the second team, and defensive end Marcus Robinson was having no luck getting past him during the first few minutes of practice attended by the media. Shannon said Henderson “knows about a quarter to half of the playbook, and he’s getting better every week and every day.”  — Miami Herald
