Skinny: The former Louisville transfer shared the spotlight with Jonathan Dwyer last season in the Rambling Wreck’s Triple Option offense. At 230 pounds, Allen is a big, bruising back who hits the whole hard and is tough to bring down when he gets a full head of steam. He averaged a remarkable 9.7 yards per carry last year.

07/26/10 - Before transferring two years ago, Allen rushed for 13 touchdowns his freshman year at Louisville, and tallied 696 yards rushing the next season. While Allen ran for 600 yards as arguably the Yellow Jackets’ third back last season, his total was markedly high considering Dwyer and quarterback Joshua Nesbitt each ran for more than 1,000 yards. Their performances marked the first time in school history that a running back and quarterback had amassed separate 1,000-yard rushing seasons. This season, Allen will move from his more blocking-focused, edge-running A-back position over to Dwyer’s B-back spot. At B-back, his carries will expand, as will his opportunities to run into the interior of the line. – Macon.com
