02.04.10 – Terrell Skinner, Free Safety, Maryland—If the Redskins are going to make LaRon Landry a full-time strong safety, they will have a hole at free. Skinner is a converted wide receiver who at 6’ 3” has the size to play safety in the NFL. At the Senior Bowl he displayed good athletic ability, but he struggled with some of the mental aspects of practice. He committed a few dumb penalties and seemed to lack focus at times. “Just getting used to the tempo, the meetings, the way NFL coaches speak to you, just surrounded by all these great players,” Skinner told the Washington Post. “My game has had to elevate, and I think I've been doing pretty good." Skinner is projected to go somewhere in the fourth to sixth rounds. - CSNWashington
02.10.10 - A hard hitter, Terrell Skinner registered 130 tackles over his final two seasons in College Park. He finished third on the team in tackles last season, and had six or more tackles in six of his last seven games as a Terrapin. Skinner met with several teams while in Mobile, including the Panthers, Packers and Jets. Skinner has a 6-foot-9 wingspan, and has registered a 36-inch vertical jump. “I feel like I’m going to test very well at the combine,” Skinner said. “I think I can run a 4.4 [in the 40-yard dash] and have a vertical jump in the high 30’s. “We have a great strength coach at Maryland [Dwight Galt], and he prepares us very well for all the testing.” – Carroll County Times
