12.08.09 - Brown was invited to the Texas vs. The Nation all-star game, which will be played Feb. 6 at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas, but he isn’t sure yet if he’ll play as he awaits word from the Senior Bowl. “(Strength and conditioning) Coach (Richard) Shaughnessy has told me there is at least some level of interest,” Brown said. “I don’t know if that’s a 90 percent or 5 percent chance. I know they’re aware of me.”
Texas vs Nation: Levi Brown (Troy) had a rough day at practice today. He was throwing with better velocity, but was not decisive when he would drop back and scan the field. He seemed nervous when under pressure, and had trouble with the center exchange today. Brown was late with most of his reads today, and receivers that found themselves open had to wait for passes to come in. This meant that easy catches turned into contested catches, and often incompletions. Not everything was bad for Brown today. He did run playfakes effectively, and would turn quickly on his bootlegs. - Draft Guys: Day Two
Texas vs Nation: Levi Brown (Troy) tends to push the ball and has a similar throwing motion to Philip Rivers from the San Diego Chargers. He does a good job of looking off defenders, but is often late with his reads which forces his receivers to wait (or slow down) for the ball. Have to like the way he keeps passes low and away from defenders. Brown will go through his progressions, and check down when necessary. He’s not one of those quarterbacks that immediately checks down when he feels the slightest bit of pressure. - Draft Guys: Day One
