01.07.10 - Ole Miss quarterback Jevan Snead has decided to bypass his senior season to enter the 2010 NFL Draft. Snead threw for 2,632 yards and 20 touchdowns with 20 interceptions this past season for the Rebels, who finished 9-4 and beat Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl. "After much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to forego my final year at Ole Miss and enter the NFL Draft," said Snead. "The fans, coaches and my teammates at Ole Miss have been unbelievable, and I want to thank them for an incredible experience. In the end, I had to do what is best for me and my family. Having finished my degree, I look forward to the challenge and hard work that comes with pursuing my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL." Snead had a better statistical year in 2008, his first as a starter for Ole Miss, completing 56.3 percent of his passes for 2,762 yards with 26 touchdowns and just 13 interceptions. His 46 career touchdown passes are second only to Eli Manning's school record of 81.

01.02.10 - Jevan Snead, a junior who has not decided if he will return for his senior season or go to the NFL early, finished 13 of 23 for 168 yards in the Cotton Bowl. His three interceptions gave him 20 for the season.

12.28.09 - Mississippi quarterback Jevan Snead will play in his second straight AT&T Cotton Bowl on Saturday but his mind could very well be on the NFL Draft. A strong performance and what is considered to be a weak draft class in terms of franchise quarterbacks, could factor in Snead bolting to the pros. Prior to the season, Snead had snuck into the conversation of potentially being a first round pick but his poor play silenced that talk rather quickly. "That’s one of those things I have to establish after this game’s over," said Snead, who remains unsure what type of feedback it would take from NFL officials to convince him to leave school after an up-and-down season marked by a 54.3 completion rate and a 20-17 ratio of touchdown passes to interceptions.
