SCOUT'S TAKE

Skinny: Dickson had a proactive junior season with 35 catches for 508 yards and three touchdowns. Perhaps equally impressive was the fact that he accomplished this with three different quarterbacks. Dickson is a big receiving tight end at 6-5, 243 pounds, possesses good hands, and is a good overall athlete. He needs to work on his blocking ability to become more of a complete tight end, but has the ability to do that. If Oregon has a quarterback that can stay in the starting line-up, Dickson will have the ability to show his skills and move up teams’ draft boards.

Our View: He needs to working on his blocking ability to become more of a complete tight end, but has the ability to do that. If Oregon has a quarterback that can stay in the starting line-up, Dickson will have the ability to show his skills and can move up teams draft boards.

NEWS

Senior Bowl: Ed Dickson (TE - Oregon) is one heckuva tight end, who has the playmaking ability and confidence to be a difference maker at the next level.  He’s not much of a blocker, but wow - what an athlete.  He moves his arms well when changing direction and his coaches like the way he can “play the drums” when breaking to the ball.  He uses basketball moves on the football field, and knows how to “box out” defenders on underneath passes. – Draft Guys (01.26.10)

Senior Bowl: Ed Dickson (TE - Oregon) is a natural hands catcher, and an up and coming tight end that NFL fans need to know.  He can get low when breaking on a route, sinking his hips and getting to the point faster than other players his size.  Dickson is a willing blocker that has outstanding effort on every play. He looked smooth getting downfield and caught the ball cleanly in the limited opportunities. – Draft Guys (01.25.10)

09.20.08 - The Oregon Ducks may have lost their game against the Boise State Broncos this past Saturday, but looked solid at tight end, with senior Ed Dickson grabbing 103 yards on seven receptions and scoring two touchdowns on the day.
