SCOUT'S TAKE

Skinny: Stuckey is the complete package at safety. He is athletic, strong, fast, and has unmatched instincts. He has great field vision and can read the quarterback’s eyes and react swiftly. He has good size at 6-1 205 pounds and although he excels at defending the pass, he will not hesitate to come up and support the run. He has good speed and is an aggressive, hard-hitting safety. He is a team leader on defense and almost single-handedly anchored the Jayhawks’ secondary last season, recording 98 tackles, five interceptions, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He will be a safety to watch for in 2009, both for fans and opposing quarterbacks.

Medical Examiner: Missed the first five games due to injury in 2006.

Honor Roll: Stuckey earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2008 and was honorable mention in 2007.

High School: Stuckey attended Washington High School in Kansas where he was an All-State defensive back as a senior and earned All-Metro honors in 2004. He totaled 176 tackles and nine interceptions on defense while scoring 32 career touchdowns. He was named MVP of his team while playing on both sides of the ball.

Personal: Stuckey is majoring in communication studies with a minor in business.
