SCOUT'S TAKE

Skinny: Clemson’s Chris Chancellor enters the 2009 season as one of the top defensive players in the nation. He is the benchmark for a healthy, well-conditioned athlete, evidenced by his 39 consecutive games played for the Tigers. During that 39-game stretch, Chancellor has started 28 straight games. In 2008, he recorded 37 tackles and has career marks of 31 passes defended and eight interceptions in three years at Clemson. The pre-season Thorpe Award candidate is great in pursuit and is fully capable of laying the lumber. He will need to hit the weight room a little bit between now and draft day, but don't let his small frame fool you.

VITALS
