SCOUT'S TAKE

Pros: Ghee possesses good speed and the ideal body for a cornerback. He is a natural ball hawk that is adept at forcing turnovers if you dare throw to his side. His competitive nature and strong personality will make him one of the top corners in college in 2009. Ghee recorded four forced fumbles to rank him second in the ACC and lead the Wake Forest team (ahead of future top five pick Aaron Curry).

Cons: This season, the senior hasn’t always been that maniacal headhunter his fans expected him to be. There have been times when he’s looked a little too overly cautious and even hesitant. Though he was ruled academically inactive in 2006, Ghee had 98 tackles on the field in two years for the Deacons. He needs to show improvement with his ball skills (zero interceptions in '09 through nine games).

Skinny: The next player to emerge from the Wake Forest defense to end up in the NFL, Ghee measures at 5’11, 190-pounds with great ball skills and the ability to come up and make tackles on receivers, as well as stick his nose in the backfield and take on running backs. He has good hips and shows the ability to play man-to-man. Nobody can take anything away from Ghee’s physical style of play. He disrupts receivers at the line of scrimmage in the effort of knocking them off their routes and is also technically sound in run support with the way he squares up on ball carriers before slamming them to the ground.

2009 Preseason: Another break-out candidate, look for Ghee to improve on his numbers for last year where he had 35 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one interception. Right now he has a second round grade.

Our View: When Ghee is at the top of his game, he’s superb in coming in and out of his breaks and sticking with receivers in one-on-one coverage. His speed and body control to make off-balance plays on balls in his range make him one of the top half-dozen draft-eligible players at his position. But, what’s striking is that he only has one interception on his ledger as a collegiate. If the ACC phenom can improve his hand skills and/or overall focus, there’s no reason why he can’t be a second or third-round pick considering his toughness, speed, and ability to line up in press coverage.
