SCOUT'S TAKE
Pros: Boo Robinson is an intelligent decision maker with sharp instincts. He has played in 30 games since his freshman year, including 26 starts. Though he is a brick house in the Wake Forest interior defensive line, Robinson is a very athletic player for his size. He is capable of bringing the physical play for four quarters of football every week and is a consistent contributor. Could be a potential 3-4 defensive end.
Cons: Robinson sustained a serious back injury and missed most of spring practice period entering his senior season.
Skinny: Probably one of the more underrated players out of the ACC, Robinson is a guy we’d like to put higher on the list, but it would be hard to state a case for it at this point in time. He is one of the more well-rounded prospects in terms of overall game and is a tremendous athlete who can penetrate in the back field and make plays against the run or rush the passer. Last season, he had 47 total tackles, six tackles for loss, five sacks and one interception.
Stock: Robinson fits the mold of your typical Tampa Two defensive tackle and may even be a better overall player than Peria Jerry, who was a first round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2009 draft. Currently, the Deamon Deacon holds a mid-round grade but don’t be surprised to see Robinson soar to day one status.
VITALS
Medical Examiner: Robinson injured his ankle in the opening game of 2008 and suffered a minor back injury during the spring practice of 2009. He will be ready to go by the start of the 2009 season.
Honor Roll: Honorable mention All-ACC in 2008; All-State for Class 3A and All-District honors at Richwood High School.
High School: Recorded 128 tackles, 10 sacks, four forced fumbles and 26 tackles-for-loss as a senior.
Personal: His birth name is Shaunteryous, which is a combination of Shaun and Terry.
