Skinny: Akwasi Owusu-Ansah made a name for himself as a junior when he tallied up eight interceptions. The IUP cornerback had only 14 tackles, a sign of teams not throwing his way. The 6’1” 205 Owusu-Ansah had seven of his interceptions in the last three games, and was one of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s top returners, gaining 560 yards.This season on defense he has 21 total tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, four pass break-ups and six passes defended. In the return game he has 16 kick-off returns for 462 returns (28.9 average per return) and two touchdowns; with 21 punt returns for 271 yards (12.9 average per return) and three touchdowns.A high school running back, Owusu-Ansah is a major threat with the ball in his hands, and took one of his interceptions back for a touchdown last year.
Our View: He has the athletic ability to succeed, combined with his speed, it makes him a tough shut down cover corner. He is a great on special teams as both a kick and punt returner, which will help his stock come draft day.
