As the team’s primary pass rusher (9.5 sacks as a junior), Davis played a key role in the Illini’s run to the Rose Bowl last season. He showed his pass rushing ability, but may lack the explosiveness necessary to be effective at the next level. While primarily a special teams performer, he was listed as wide receiver/tight end as a freshman. Davis is very athletic, agile and shifty for someone who plays with his hand on the ground. However, he lacks ideal bulk and strength, and needs to do a better job stopping the run if he is going to be a three-down player at the next level. Davis comes from an athletic family—his mother played basketball for the Liberian National team and his uncle played on the soccer team.
