In the season opener against Austin Peay, NDSU WR Kole Heckendorf put on a show, catching eight passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns. Heckendorf brings a good combination of size and speed and showed it in this game. He is currently a priority free agent type prospect whose stock is on the rise.

Heckendorf has a good size/speed combo and has produced very well over his career. After red-shirting in 2004, he caught 37 passes for 470 yards in ’05 before breaking out in 2006 with 52 catches for 752 yards and five touchdowns to earn Second Team All-Great West honors. Heckendorf finished his junior season with 766 yards on 48 grabs and six touchdowns. As a two-time All-Great West performer, he has proven that he has the talent for late round or free agent consideration.
