Reed brings excellent size (6’2, 214) to the safety position but lacks great speed. He could potentially run in the 4.5-range with the proper training regimen. His lack of speed may force Reed to move to outside linebacker at the next level and his toughness, intelligence and physical play might indeed be better be suited there. The transition would not be a tough one, as Reed has been used often in the box. He finished 2007 with 101 tackles, 2.5 TFL, three interceptions and five breakups to earn All-NSIC honors for the second consecutive year. He enters 2008 as a projected undrafted free agent but has the potential to move up with improved speed and an added 15-20 pounds of bulk.
