Bell has been up and down since his first day at UCLA. He showed glimpses as a freshman, including an impressive 136-yard performance in the Sun Bowl, but also missed five games that same season. He has not played in a bowl game since, as injuries knocked him out of the Bruins’ final six games of 2006 (ankle injury) and the last five games of 2007. He had reconstructive ACL surgery on his right knee in December of 2007 but appears to be back on track to return in 2008. If he can stay on the field, the California native may prove to be a pro prospect. Bell isn’t the prototype, but he does possess good size with adequate speed—he’s a powerful runner. He was suspended for the final two games of his sophomore season and has not yet reached his potential. Unfortunately, it is beginning to appear he never will.
