Entering the 2007 season it appeared Longshore could be among the top quarterback prospects for the 2009 Draft, however a mediocre junior campaign has changed that. Longshore won the starting job in 2005 and the freshman was off to good start completing 8-of-11 passes for 131 yards against Sacramento St. in the season opener, before a severe ankle injury ended his season. A chipped bone in his ankle caused him to miss a game last year and hampered him for much of the second half of the season. During the spring, as he was competing with sophomore Kevin Riley for the starting job, Longshore had to shut it down after tearing his pectoral muscle. Longshore lacks speed and is immobile, a sitting target for oncoming pass rushers. He has the size teams look for and a solid arm, so he will still garner attention from pro scouts. Struggled in the spotlight in games verses Tennessee and USC during 2006.
