One of the most productive players at his position, Coen has been named all-conference in each of the last two seasons, exceeding 3,000 passing yards both years. For his career, the UMass quarterback has tallied 8,200 passing yards and 66 touchdowns entering ‘08. One indicator of possible future success lies is his bloodlines. His father played baseball and his grandfather played football at Boston College. A very smart player, Coen has a good understanding of the game and is a pure pro style passer who can make the essential throws. Weaknesses include lack of size and mobility but Coen is a tough player and has proven to be consistent. NFL scouts consider him a priority free agent that could improve to late round status with a solid postseason.
