Malone originally committed to Texas in high school but ended up at Tulane, where he redshirted in 2002. After sitting out 2003 and 2004 due to a medical condition he came out of nowhere to earn First Team All-Lonestar South honors with 3,136 yards and 27 touchdowns as a sophomore. He then followed up with 3,914 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior. Malone is a big kid with a strong arm but lacks great mobility. He will be a solid developmental prospect worth using a late round pick on and should carry a sixth-seventh round grade heading into the season.
