1.28.09 - Teel was one of the more patient QBs here, going through his reads deliberately. His arm strength is average at best, but he does put good touch on the short stuff. He seems to be a very limited upside QB. - Draft Guys On Location at the Texas vs. The Nation Game

1.27.09 - Teel has the velocity to fit the ball into tight spots, but he still needs to put more touch on his short passes. Teel had one pass intercepted by Brit Miller, who leapt to make a one handed snag on a ball targeted for a downfield receiver. - Draft Guys On Location at the Texas vs. The Nation Game

1.8.09 - Five seniors from the 2008 Rutgers football team will participate in postseason all-star games. Senior FS Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, N.Y.) will play in the 84th East-West Shrine Game. Four additional seniors - LB Kevin Malast (Manchester, N.J.), CB Jason McCourty (Nanuet, N.Y.), QB Mike Teel (Oakland, N.J.) and WR Tiquan Underwood (Lawrenceville, N.J.) - will play in the Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Challenge Saturday, January 31 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas. CBS College Sports Network will televise the game with a 3 p.m. kickoff from El Paso.

Scout's Take - 7.1.08

An under-the-radar prospect, Teel has been strongly coached in his fundamentals and mechanics. The three-year starter has improved upon his accuracy and yards per attempt each season and was at the forefront of helping transform the Rutgers football program into one of the best in the nation. However, he needs to show he can elevate his game against ranked opponents. Teel showed his toughness as a junior when he played through a bruised right thumb for the majority of that year. Look for Teel to showcase his arm strength in Rutgers revamped offense, which focuses heavily on the passing attack in ’08.
