1/6/09 - Decision Time: Kenny Britt
1/3/09 - Next Level Scouting, Inc. is reporting that Rutgers junior wide receiver Kenny Britt will officially announce at a 12 noon press conference on-campus that he will forego his senior year and enter the 2009 NFL Draft. Most people associated with the Rutgers football program felt that Britt would likely receive between a 1st or 2nd round grade from the NFL thanks to his size, speed and production over the past three years.
12/29/08 - Britt has made an impact at Rutgers since his freshman season. In 2006, he had 29 receptions for 440 yards and two touchdowns, which led the team. A year ago, Britt hauled in 62 passes for 1,232 yards and eight touchdowns and earned Second Team All-Big East honors. This season, Britt has not slowed down catching 78 passes for 1,191 yards and five touchdowns. The only bump in the road in 2008 is the one-game suspension Britt had to serve for violating an undisclosed team policy. At 6-4, 215, Britt has the size and skills NFL teams dream of and the Chiefs, Colts, Browns and Giants have already shown interest. If Britt were to leave early, he would be an early round selection.
8/1/08 - One of the rare prospects able to post impressive numbers on paper in the stat column and fill out the measureables. Britt possesses the prototypical intangibles with his 6’4 frame, top-end speed and long wingspan. The New Jersey product does a good job of catching the ball with his hands and can go up and compete for jump-balls with the best of them. His sophomore campaign included five games in which he exceeded the 100-yard plateau, as he averaged 20 yards per catch on the year. Britt will need to polish his technique and continue to fill out his frame but overall, there’s really not much he can’t do. The highest rated wide receiver ever to come out of Rutgers.
