1.24.09 - Butler, generally regarded as one of the top five lockdown cornerbacks in the draft, said he's looking forward to the Senior Bowl. The word is that he has already proved there are no lingering effects from the knee injury he sustained against West Virginia that caused him to miss a few weeks before returning for the International Bowl. Butler said he wants a good showing tonight in hopes of boosting his stock. "I've been told I'm a first-day prospect, but I'm trying to get into that first round," Butler said. "I know people had some questions about whether I was the same player I was before I got hurt. I'm hoping I answered some of those questions this week."
1.23.09 - Darius Butler displayed good footwork throughout the week. He’s a little undersized, but his hips are as fluid as any corner playing this week. At times, Butler disappointed a bit with his speed – does his 40-time translate to the field? For a corner who lacks ideal size, he needs to show more closing speed. He did impress with his physical play at the line of scrimmage, at one point spinning Brooks Foster completely around right at the line. He looks like he has the skills to play bump-and-run. - The NFL Draft Bible On Location At The Senior Bowl
1.21.09 – Darius Butler is probably the best athletic specimen on the North roster. He eats up ground effortlessly with a smooth gliding stride and has blindingly quick feet. He was beaten on multiple occasions because he was caught guessing, but Butler still pops as a first round athlete and he's a sure first day pick. Draft Guys On Location at The Senior Bowl
