1.17.09 – Has good natural size and runs pretty well, but he lacks ideal instincts and has not shown great ball skills during practices. He has been right there on several plays and allowed the receiver to make the catch. Shows good range and has tried to come up on a few plays to lay a big lick, but his timing is not always on the mark. - The NFL Draft Bible On Location at the East-West Shrine Game
1.15.09 – Courtney Greene didn't stand out this week, but you could tell he wanted to deliver big hits in the run game, often pulling up in the mostly non-contact practice even though he was loaded up to land the blow. - Draft Guys On Location at the East-West Shrine Game

Scout's Take - 8.1.08
The New Rochelle native is a hard-hitting free safety who possesses the necessary length, size and speed to play on Sundays. He swarms to the ball and when Greene gets there, the ball carrier knows it. He has good instincts and is can play against both the run and the pass. Greene is productive, leading the Rutgers defense in stops as a junior with 101—his second straight season topping the century mark. A team leader on and off the field, Greene has started every game of his college career heading into his senior campaign. He is better against the run than the pass and like most young safeties, is better moving forward than he is moving in reverse. While most view him as a free safety at the next level, he is also very capable of playing of strong safety. That versatility will allow him to provide depth at both positions before he works his way into the starting lineup.
