2.2.09 – Holbrook actually looked better than the eighth best QB at this game - which was where we had him ranked after a so-so week of practice. He had great timing, mechanics, and zip on his passes on his TD drive. - Draft Guys On Location at the Texas vs. The Nation Game
1.28.09 – Holbrook is probably the eighth best of the eight QBs here. Just like yesterday, it seems like everything he does is slow compared the other Texas QBs. He did make a few nice touch passes today, dropping the ball into spots on both inside and outside throws, but just as many of his throws sailed over the intended receiver. - Draft Guys On Location at the Texas vs. The Nation Game
1.26.09 – Holbrook had heavy feet and lumbered in his dropback and set up to throw, he also had trouble driving through the pass and putting good zip on the ball. - Draft Guys On Location at the Texas vs. The Nation Game
Scout's Take - 7.15.08
After starting his career at Southeastern Louisiana, a Football Championship Subdivision School, Holbrook made the jump along with headman Hal Mumme to the Football Bowl Subdivision and New Mexico St. He sat out 2005 and then had a special season, setting a school record and a NCAA record for sophomore signal callers with 4,619 passing yards. Holbrook has prototypical size, however he plays in a very pass-happy offense set up for the quarterback to complete 65 percent of his passes or better.
