06.01.09 - 2008 NFF National Scholar-Athlete WR Brian Robiskie (Ohio State) and 2008 Heisman Trophy recipient QB Sam Bradford of Oklahoma were two of the five finalists for the 2009 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar of the Year Award from Diverse: Issues In Higher Education magazine. The 16-year-old program recognizes the top scholar-athletes from all collegiate sports, and criteria also include leadership, character, community activism, and on-field performance.

01.23.09 - Brian Robiskie has terrific hands, maybe the best of this group. He also has no peers in terms of his route running skills. A true technician who plays like his father is a receiver’s coach in the NFL…which he is (Terry Robiskie coaches wide receivers for he Minnesota Vikings). - NFL Draft Bible On Location At The Senior Bowl

01.21.09 – Brian Robiskie does use his frame to shield the defender naturally, unlike Barden. He runs routes like a veteran and has shown the ability to pluck the ball outside of his frame. He staggered one DB with a stop-start and surprised with his speed out of the move. Robiskie reads the defense well and is one of those guys that just finds a way to make the play. - Draft Guys On Location at the Senior Bowl

01.20.09 – Brian Robiskie not the fastest guy out there, but he is a very savvy WR that does all of the little things well. Robiskie got wide open by dipping his outside shoulder before breaking the route inside on Darius Butler, one of many times Butler was caught guessing. Brian showed good sideline awareness where he was able to get both feet down on a pass from Rhett Bomar. He once again looked good returning punts. He is a one speed WR, but showed an ability to shield defenders away from the ball on a post play. - Draft Guys On Location at the Senior Bowl

01.19.09 –
Brian Robiskie consistently caught passes, but seemed to be fighting them to do so. He also showed a propensity to jump for passes when he didn't need to. He ran good slant routes, and gave his QB a good target when coming back to the ball on hook routes. - Draft Guys On Location at the Senior Bowl

12.8.08 - Led Buckeyes to a share of the 2008 Big Ten title... OSU's leading receiver for the second year, catching 37 passed for 419 yards and eight touchdowns... Two- time First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All- America selection... One of three male finalists for the 2008 Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Award... Active in projects through the Student-Athlete Activities Board, and participates in hospital visits and speaks to local elementary and middle school students. - National Football Foundation

Scout's Take - 7.15.08

Pros: Robiskie led the Buckeyes in receiving as a junior and is a coach’s dream—and coach’s son--both on and off the field. Robiskie has a solid frame, with good speed and an even better of understanding the game. He runs crisp routes, has above average hands, and is efficient--he led the Buckeyes in receiving as a junior, topping 50 receptions and 10 touchdowns while falling just short of the 1,000-yard barrier (55-935-11). His vision allows him to find the openings in the seams of opposing defenses.

Cons:
Nothing pops out in terms of his measurables. He likely will not make as many big plays at the next level as he does at Columbus. At just under 200 pounds, Robiskie lacks ideal bulk, which will limit his potential as a blocker and call his both his durability, and his ability to beat bump-and-run coverage into question. His skill set makes him better suited to be a number two or three receiver in the NFL.

Overall:
A special teams player as a true freshman, Robiskie began to make more of an impact as a receiver towards the end of his sophomore season, including a career day in the regular season finale against Michigan. As a junior, he stepped into the limelight, taking over as OSU’s number one receiver with Ted Ginn, Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez departing early to enter the 2007 Draft. He is projected to be a mid-round pick entering his final season at Columbus, with the potential to move into day one.
