3.3.09 - The Associated Press reports Ohio State OL Alex Boone was arrested late Sunday, Feb. 1, for investigation of resisting arrest. Boone was subdued with a Taser during an alleged drunken tirade. When Orange County (Calif.) sheriff's deputies responded, Boone was jumping on car hoods, yanking on a tow truck cable and trying to break a window, according to sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino. Boone ran away from deputies and was found hiding underneath a patio, authorities said. Boone was combative and uncooperative and had to be taken down with a stun gun. Boone was taken to a hospital and then to a jail medical ward.

Scout's Take - 7.1.09
Pros: Boone enters his third season as the Buckeyes left tackle, having provided very solid pass protection for the OSU signal callers. He possesses the ideal size and wingspan for playing on the left side and he has seen some time at right tackle as well. He is smart, a solid technician with good footwork and body control. The Ohio native is a good athlete who excels at run blocking. Boone also has developed a reputation for his film study, which allows him to anticipate what defenders may do.
Cons: Because he is so tall, Boone could use a few more pounds if he is going to battle in the NFL trenches. If he expects to overpower opponents on Sundays the way has on Saturdays over the last couple of seasons, Boone needs to get stronger. He is not as far along as a pass blocker as he is a run blocker, and will have to improve if he wants to play left tackle at the next level. Right now, Boone is more solid than spectacular as a blocker.
Overall: The Second Team All-Big Ten performer returns for his final season as a Buckeye after entertaining thoughts of leaving early for the NFL. He has prototypical size, but he can get stronger. It is unclear if he is better suited for the left or right side in the NFL. He’s a likely day one selection—think second round or late first round.
