1.15.09 - Has shown an extra gear that others have lacked so far. Good acceleration once he gets the ball in the open field. Has the best hands/routes of any RB in this game. Does not have great top-end speed in terms of 40 times, but he's football fast, and come game day is a guy who does not get caught too often from behind. - NFL Draft Bible On Location At The East-West Shrine Game
1.15.09 – HOUSTON, Aaron Brown(TCU) had a few more nice runs where he wove through traffic and showed his excellent hands out of the backfield. He also returned kicks at the end of practice. Brown has the look of a good swiss army knife back at the next level. Draft Guys On Location at The East-West Shrine Game
1.13.09 – HOUSTON, Aaron Brown(TCU) had probably the best vision of the West RBs, gliding through the hole and identifying cutback lanes well. He had little to no wasted motion, running efficiently on most every touch. Draft Guys On Location at The East-West Shrine Game
1.12.09 – HOUSTON, Aaron Brown(TCU) had one of the best runs of the day, weaving through traffic in an 11 on 11 play and getting a "flying back bump" from Sammie Stroughter. Draft Guys On Location at The East-West Shrine Game
12.23.08 - All of the defensive plays may have gone for naught if not for the running of Aaron Brown. Before the half, with TCU trailing 13-0, the senior tailback took an option pitch, cut back--despite the fact the Horned Frogs were out of time outs--and turned on the jets for a 16-yard scoring scamper with 24 ticks remaining in the first half. TCU was in jeopardy of entering the locker room down two scores despite dominating the first half – 246 yards to 106 – and downright owning the second quarter – 188 yards to minus-seven. Brown’s score gave the Horned Frogs some much needed momentum heading into intermission. I really like Brown’s burst and would have liked to have seen him get more carries this season. His 14 carries and 102 yards were the second highest totals for the Texas native on the season (he had 15 carries for 106 yards versus Utah). Brown displayed burst, speed, vision, and cutback ability – he is a sleeper to keep an eye on for the 2009 draft. - College Football Insiders Poinsettia Bowl Notes
Scout's Take - 7.1.08
The TCU Horned Frog isn’t the next coming of LaDainian Tomlinson, but he is one to watch for this year among senior backs—if he can stay healthy. A very productive runner, Brown has a good frame and above average speed. He’s instinctive with the football in his hands and has enough burst to break off a big run. He is also one of the top pass catching running backs in college football--a legitimate weapon in both the rushing and passing attacks. The biggest question mark is his durability—Brown missed four games in 2007 due to injury and was hampered in several other contests. The Texas native injured his right knee during the season opener and missed the final two games after hurting his ankle. While he has a good frame, Brown could add some weight and get stronger.
