Pros: A starter for most of his career, Adibi brings plenty of big game experience along with great athleticism and quickness. He possesses above average cover skills, is very fluid, and can catch the football. Adibi can also rush the passer, getting to the quarterback with his excellent closing speed once he senses a potential sack. Against the run, he covers a lot of ground sideline-to-sideline. Adibi possesses fluid hips, keeps his head on a swivel, and is an aggressive player who makes plays in the backfield as well as in the open field—he’s a big hitter who looks to separate ball from ball carrier. The Hokie is also a very smart player who plays with great passion. Adibi has a nose for the football and he plays with a high motor on every snap. He can be a team leader.

Cons: He has the propensity to make costly penalties, meaning discipline is something he will need to improve upon. Adibi still needs to add a few pounds of muscle and pure bulk and will have trouble if engaged. Coupled with his history of various injuries, his durability is also an issue. He can disappear in games and has not made as many tackles as you would expect.

Overall: Smart, instinctive and aggressive, Adibi has all the tools…now he just needs to put them all together to be the complete package. Adibi hasn't been a stat-sheet stuffer, but he is certainly capable of becoming a solid contributor at the pro level with some refinement in his overall game. He has all the tools to be a special teams standout, an area he should be able to contribute in from day one. He will be 24 in October.

Mogollon’s View: Because of his lack of size, Adibi will likely be limited to playing WILL in a 4-3 scheme. He has the necessary speed and fluidity teams look for in coverage, but it might not be enough with his lack of bulk. He’s an intriguing prospect because of his overall athleticism, but he may end up as just a situational player.

Murphy’s View: A fluid outside linebacker, Adibi has also lined up inside. He runs well for his size and position (4.55 range) but is also flexible and shows the hips to turn and run with receivers lined up in the slot. Has been more of a zone defender, but can adapt to most schemes and also gets after the QB. His lack of strength and bulk causes him to struggle when attacking the line of scrimmage…he will grade out higher for teams using the Cover-2 defense.

Factoid: Adibi credits his brother for maintaining his interest in football: “I didn’t even like football at first,” Adibi said in a 2005 interview, “I just stuck with it because my brother played. I was a basketball guy.”

Medical Examiner: Torn a tendon in his right bicep as a freshman and underwent surgery the following week. He has remained injury-free since then, starting the past 39 games at linebacker for the Hokies.
