According to league officials, the Montreal Alouettes have been fined over $100,000 and will lose their own original first-round pick, which was #4 overall in Wednesday's CFL Draft. The pick reverts to the Hamilton Ti-Cats who own the #1 overall pick, so they now have picks #1, #8 and #9 overall.
According to several team officials, the fact that Sherbrooke WR Samuel Giguere (Indianapolis) and Central Florida DT Keith Shologan (San Diego) both signed with NFL teams shortly after the NFL Draft could impact the Top-5 picks in Wednesday's CFL Draft. Both Giguere and Shologan were expected to go in the Top-5 choices, but could now slide. Saskatchewan safety Dylan Barker is thought to be the potential #1 overall pick.
