LAS VEGAS – Former standout UNLV offensive lineman Joe Hawley has been invited to play in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Challenge on Feb. 6 in El Paso, Texas.

Hawley, who started at both guard and center during his Rebel career, will line up wearing jersey No. 59 for Team Nation, which will be coached this year by Florida Atlantic head coach Howard Schnellenberger.

The game, which will be played at the Sun Bowl, is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. PT and fans can watch the game live on CBS College Sports.

Hawley will be the third Rebel to take part in the Texas vs. The Nation game as running back Frank “The Tank” Summers” had an outstanding day, including scoring a 19-yard touchdown, at last year’s event while safety Jay Staggs played well on the other side of the ball in the 2006 edition.

Summers’ performance helped him become a draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers. In fact, 93 percent of the 2009 roster from the Texas vs. The Nation game went on to sign NFL contracts (111 out of 119).
