Favre motivated, ready to call Green Bay "bluff".

Next Level Scouting, Inc. is reporting that according to a reliable league source, if quarterback Brett Favre, who on Monday said he has never officially filed retirement papers with the NFL, were to either notify the Green Bay Packers and/or the NFL that he has not retired or wishes to be reinstated to the team based on verbal retirement he made in the off-season than he could be expected to report to the Packers in time to start training camp.

Therefore any day after the team's reporting date for veteran players, which is July 27th, the Packers could potentially fine him for not reporting any time after that date. "There is no way from a PR and organization standpoint that the Packers or really the NFL itself would want things to deteriorate to the point where a player like that (Favre) is being fined and that the verbal jabs continue to be traded back and fourth", explained a league source who wished to remain nameless because of his relationship to the situation.

The source also explained that he felt that Favre's desire to return and play this season may now be somewhat fueled by the fact that he feels some people inside the Packers organization believe that this year's version of the team can be equal or better than the results they posted a year ago with Aaron Rodgers under center, which to Favre feels like a slap in the face considering what he has done for that franchise.
