#17 Detroit Lions (From Vikings Through Chiefs): Gosder Cherilus, Boston College
Matt Millen does it again. Much to the chagrin of many Lions fans in attendance, the Detroit mastermind selects the fundamentally sound Cherilus. While the pick is not glamorous and Cherilus carried a late-first round grade on most draft boards around the league, the Boston College product is considered to be a "safe" pick ready to contribute immediately. The pick also allows the Lions to experiment moving George Foster inside to guard.
