Here’s a look at lies ahead for All 32 NFL teams in Day Two of the 2008 Draft.
AFC
Buffalo: CB Leodis McKelvin and WR James Hardy address Buffalo’s most immediate needs. Help is still needed defensive end, tight end and outside linebacker.
Miami: Bill Parcells has done a solid job thus far of filling some of Miami’s most pressing needs with T Jake Long, DE Phillip Merling and QB Chad Henne. It’s time to address team needs at middle linebacker, wide receiver and defensive tackle.
New England: New England made a couple of surprising picks in LB Jarod Mayo and CB Terrence Wheatley that take care of a couple of holes. Help is still needed at offensive tackle and running back. Added depth at linebacker and safety would also make sense.
New York Jets: After taking the best two athletes off the board in OLB/DE Vernon Gholston and TE Dustin Keller, Gang Green will be looking fortify themselves at corner back and wide receiver with their remaining three picks. They could also be looking to one more body to the defensive line.
Baltimore: After taking the league by storm by trading up with Houston for QB Joe Flacco, Baltimore adds to their offensive arsenal by adding RB Ray Rice. Other needs in Day Two include: cornerback, wide receiver, offensive tackle and inside linebacker.
Cincinnati: Cincinnati gets their man in LB Keith Rivers in round one and comes back to address their wide out needs with small-school phenom WR Jerome Simpson.
Cleveland: Cleveland doesn’t get to pick until the fourth round. Their needs include: outside linebacker, inside linebacker, safety, running back and added depth along the defensive line.
Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh gets excellent value at the 23rd spot with RB Rashard Mendenhall and select king-sized WR Limas Sweed in the second round. Look for the Steelers to target the following positions on Sunday: offensive tackle, offensive guard, safety, cornerback and kick returner.
Houston: T Duane Brown was their man in the first round. Houston will be looking to draft at the following positions: running back, cornerback, defensive end and defensive tackle.
Indianapolis: Indianapolis addressed their need along the interior of its offensive line with C/G Mike Pollack in the second round. The Colts will be targeting the following positions: defensive end, defensive tackle, offensive tackle, tight end and middle linebacker.
Jacksonville: Jacksonville takes care of their pass-rushing needs with DE Derrick Harvey and OLB Quentin Groves in Day One. Expect the Jaguars to focus on drafting at the following positions: middle linebacker, tight end, wide receiver and quarterback.
Tennessee: The Titans takes RB Chris Johnson and DE Jason Jones, which means that they still have needs at wide receiver and cornerback.
Denver: Primary needs are addressed with OT Ryan Clady and WR Eddie Royal. Defensive tackle, middle linebacker and kicker are positions that will be targeted.
Kansas City: One of the more active teams in Day One selects DT Glenn Dorsey, G/T Branden Albert and CB Brandon Flowers. Day Two needs are: offensive guard, quarterback and wide receiver.
Oakland: Oakland makes the glamour pick with RB Darren McFadden in the first round. Day Two needs are: defensive tackle, offensive tackle, outside linebacker, quarterback and wide receiver.
San Diego: With CB Antoine Cason in the fold, the Chargers will be looking to draft at the following positions: center/guard, defensive tackle, safety and running back.
NFC
Dallas: The Cowboys take RB Felix Jones, CB Mike Jenkins and TE Martellus Bennett in Day One, which leaves them with needs at: wide receiver, nose tackle and along the offensive line.
New York Giants: Big Blue goes heavy on defensive backs with S Kenny Phillips and CB Terrell Thomas. The G-men will be looking at linebacker, wide receiver and added depth along the offensive line in Day Two.
Philadelphia: The Eagles kept trading down until they ended up with DT Trevor Laws and WR DeSean Jackson in the middle of the second round. Unaddressed needs are: offensive tackle, cornerback, strong safety and kick returner.
Washington: The Redskins may be looking to open up the offense with their Day-One selections of WR Devin Thomas, TE Fred Davis and WR Malcolm Kelly. Day Two needs include: offensive tackle, defensive end, safety and kicker.
Chicago: The offensively-challenged Bears selected OT Chris Williams and RB Matt Forte’. The Bears should be looking to continue going heavy on offense at quarterback, wide receiver and run-blocking tight end. The safety position is also a need.
Detroit: Continuing a run on offensive tackles, the Lions select OT Gosder Cherilus in round one and OLB Jordon Dizon in the second round. Other areas of need include: defensive tackle, running back, tight end and added depth along the offensive line.
Green Bay: The Packers trade down into the second round to select WR Jordy Nelson, and also take QB Brian Brohm and CB Patrick Lee in that same round. Green Bay will be focusing on guard, tackle, tight end and defensive tackle in the later rounds.
Minnesota: The Vikings bring home S Tyrell Johnson and will be looking to add to that by looking at the following: cornerback, tackle and added depth at wide receiver.
Atlanta: QB Matt Ryan, OT/OG Sam Baker and ILB Curtis Lofton were the players of choice here. The Falcons will be looking to add on by drafting at: defensive tackle, tight end and wide receiver.
Carolina: The Panthers drafted for need with their picks of RB Jonathan Stewart and OT Jeff Otah. Remaining needs are: defensive end, quarterback and outside linebacker.
New Orleans: DT Sedrick Ellis and CB Tracy Porter land in the Big Easy. Day Two picks are: offensive tackle, wide receiver and outside linebacker.
Tampa Bay: The Buccaneers have secured CB Aqib Talin and small-school WR Dexter Jackson in Day One. Offensive tackle, defensive tackle and running back remain priorities.
Arizona: The Cards go defense with CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and DE Calais Campbell. Other needs are: running back, linebacker and offensive line.
Seattle: The Seahawks go with DE Lawrence Jackson and TE John Carlson. Day Two will see Seattle look at these positions: wide receiver, defensive tackle, running back and offensive line.
St. Louis: OLB/DE Chris Long and WR Donnie Avery were the objects of the Rams’ desires in Day One. Offensive tackle, outside linebacker and cornerback should all be addressed in the second day.
San Francisco: The ‘Niners select DT Kentwan Balmer and OF Chilo Rachal. Next up are picks at guard, nose tackle, quarterback and linebacker.
