| Matt Cassel signed a very lucrative free agent contract in the off-season to be the starting QB for the Chiefs. After a couple of games, Brodie Croyle, who has seen playing time due to a Cassel injury, has better numbers than the high-priced Cassel. Despite that, Coach Todd Haley is sticking with Cassel...for the time being. “You’ve got to ultimately do what you think gives your team the best chance to win,” Haley said. “If that means another quarterback being in there other than Matt Cassel, then sign me up.”

| Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley said it was too early to know if quarterback Matt Cassel will miss a second straight start this weekend because of an injury to his left knee. Haley is hopeful that a decision can be made earlier than Sunday, when the decision was made just hours before the season-opener at Baltimore.
