According to UFL-Football.com, J.P. Losman, 28, said Tuesday night he has signed with the Las Vegas entry of the start-up United Football League, where he will be coached by former Giants boss Jim Fassel. He immediately becomes the league's marquee player, a former first-round pick who was Buffalo's starting quarterback 33 times over the past four seasons. Mancini’s Take: According to Losman, he had some “conversations” with both Carolina and Denver about helping them in a backup role. I don’t know whether to believe that. If some NFL team really wanted him, you would think that he’d be signed by now. Nobody wants to play in the minor leagues if given a choice. But, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Maybe he wants to use his UFL experience as an auditioning tool to re-enter the big leagues…as a backup. I’m sure Losman will stand out with the Las Vegas franchise, where he’ll be surrounded by second-rate talent for the most part. The former Bill has always been a superb athlete with a good arm, but his decision-making has been his ruin. In other UFL news, Brooks Bollinger is reportedly considering joining Jim Haslett and his Orlando squad. Trackback(0)
