Not only was there first-round pick Kenny Britt’s making his debut with 89 yards receiving but there were highlights all up and down the Titans rookie class. There was tight end Jared Cook continuing his sparkling work, leading the team in receptions with six catches for 56 yards. Running back Javon Ringer showcased his abilities in the third quarter when he sidestepped a Buccaneers defender for a 36-yards score. And there was cornerback Ryan Mouton stealing a pass from Bucs first-round pick Josh Freeman and taking it to end zone for Tennessee’s final score of the night. Also, rookie linebacker Gerald McRath turned in a team-high seven tackles in a reserve role.

The Skinny: The Tennessee Titans finished 2008 with the best record in the NFL. The only key departure they had was defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who the Washington Redskins overpaid for.  The Titans added a starting wide receiver in former Pittsburgh Steeler, Nate Washington, to add a deep threat they did not previously have.  If the rookies continue to perform at a high level, the Titans could be even more dangerous this season, and a trip to Miami in February could be on their agenda.
