| NFL: Saints Kicker To Be Suspended | ||||

New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley expects to miss the first four games of the regular season because he tested positive for a stimulant. Hartley used a prescription drug called Adderall to stay awake while driving from Dallas to New Orleans for an offseason workout. New Orleans signed veteran John Carney Saturday to prepare for the pending suspension. The Skinny: The biggest concern here is that Hartley did not receive the prescription from a doctor, but from a former college friend. This would not be nearly as bad, had he gotten the prescription from, you know, an actual medical doctor. There are two different kinds of kickers in the NFL. Those who can kick outdoors and those that can’t. When you are a team in the NFC South, it is easier to find a replacement that can kick indoors, so Hartley may have made his last shank with the Saints.
