NFL: Ochocinco Gets His Kicks Vs. Pats

With kicker Shayne Graham sidelined, the Bengals needed someone to step up and perform kicking duties against New England in their preseason matchup. That someone turned out to be Chad Ochocinco, who booted an extra point and kicked off following the conversion.

The Skinny: Child, please--who else would it be? The FC Barcelona fan did Lionel Messi proud, booming the PAT through easily and kicking off like a pro. Oh, and he also happened to haul in three receptions for 69 yards as he continues to turn back the clock. Ochocinco is looking motivated and if he and the impressive Chris Henry (4-55 and a TD) can each keep their composure, the Bengals have themselves a re-born and lethal receiving duo. People can scoff at Ocho's kicking exploits, but the bottom line is we have seen kickers get hurt during games and it's caused teams to go for two when they don't want to, or avoid field goal attempts from short range. At least there's a usable--and colorful--alternative in Cincy.
