| NFL: Monroe Wasting No Time | ||||

Jaguars.com reports first-round pick Eugene Monroe is expected to be the Jaguars' opening-day left tackle, over William "Tra" Thomas. Mancini’s Take: This move makes a lot of sense. Monroe is probably a better pass blocker at this stage than Thomas. The rookie has excellent feet that are constantly moving in pass protection, making him tough to beat on both inside and outside moves, as well as bull rushes. The 34-year-old Thomas has been beat up through the years and can’t consistently provide the type of pass and run blocking the Jaguars need. But he does give the team some nice insurance and can flash his old drive blocking skills in a pinch if needed. Trackback(0)
