The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Browns' head coach Eric Mangini praised the work of rookie receiver Mohamad Massaquoi yesterday. Massaquoi is locked in a battle for playing time with fellow rookie Brian Robiskie, Mike Furrey, and Joshua Cribbs. The Skinny: Not bad, rookie. Mangini likes the kid's work ethic and more importantly, the coach has his eye on the second-rounder out of Georgia. The jobs are available in Cleveland--only Braylon Edwards has a lock on a starting position--and Massaquoi is in line for plenty of playing time. Mangini didn't stop at the rookie's blocking efforts, "He's a guy that takes it all in, tries to absorb the stuff that we're saying, tries to pick the brains of the older guys. He has good natural ability, which is going to keep getting better, because of the intangibles. I've liked his approach since he's gotten here, right after the draft, right up until now. He'll make strides." Someone is fast becoming the coach's favorite. With that work ethic, Massaquoi could also become a fan favorite in blue-collar Cleveland. Contact Ross Mandel via email
