NFL: Burress States Nightclub Knew He was Armed

In an interview with ESPN, jail-bound former Giant Plaxico Burress claims that the staff of the nightclub where he shot himself was fully aware that he had a gun when he entered the establishment.

The Skinny: We kind of knew this, but it doesn't let Burress off the hook in any way. However, now the nightclub has to take a hit if this is true. Plax says that the security staff found the gun, then ushered him through the metal detector into the crowded club. How does that work? Was it "famous people/bring a loaded gun to the club" night? Let's see if New York prosecutors go after the club with the same zeal that they went after Plax. I'm not saying that Plax doesn't deserve to go to prison, he does. But the amount of time he got for being a high-profile offender wasn't justified in my mind and now this? Come on Mayor Bloomberg--tell us all how the club should be shut down for this. Yeah, silence from the mayor...that's what I thought. No one famous was working security.
