NFL: Accusations Mounting for Harrison

ESPN reveals that a second man is now alleging that free agent receiver Marvin Harrison shot him during a shootout in Philadelphia last year.

Mancini’s Take: Something smells here. The second man, Robert Dixon, has issued conflicting details about Harrison shooting his gun, but he remains steadfast in his identification of the former Colt as the perpetrator. This is one of those cases that won’t go away. In fact, it looks as if there’s more than meets the eye. Before we all jump to conclusions in defending or condemning Harrison, just keep in mind that what we see on the field doesn’t always correlate with real life. Number 88 was the quiet professional for years in the court of public opinion. But what do we really know about him off the field? Nothing. The receiver shut every one out of his private life. So, let’s keep an open mind about this.

Mandel's Take: Regardless of the merits of these cases, one thing is for certain: the allegations aren't helping Harrison land a gig. I know he's old and has lost a step, but it's hard to believe a team like Baltimore couldn't use Harrison. There isn't enough information for law enforcement to make a decision about the former All-World receiver, so I'm with you Rev--let's wait until all of the facts come out...if they ever do.
