NFL: Marcus Smith Out For Season
Saturday, 15 August 2009 05:20    PDF Print E-mail

CBSSports.com reports Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marcus Smith (knee) will miss the 2009 season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the team's preseason opener.

The Skinny: More bad news for Baltimore as Smith had begun seeing first team reps in place of the injured Mark Clayton, who is expected to miss most if not all of the preseason. This may create an opening for Matt Jones to return to the league. Currently next in line on the Ravens roster are journeyman Kelley Washington and second-year wide out Justin Harper. In other Ravens news, the team has brought in quarterback Cleo Lemon for a look-see.
