Long Road Back for Hardy

Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills WR James Hardy has been catching passes on the sidelines from a Juggs machine. He is still rehabbing from a torn ACL.

Mancini’s Take: You know, I really don’t see much of role for Hardy with T.O. in town. The big guy has two strikes against him in that he’s trying to bounce back from a significant injury along with the fact that he was basically useless on the field prior to his physical setback. The lumbering wide out looked like a fish out of water last year, lacking any special burst or agility to create separation. He’s lucky he’s 6’7” or he may have been selling cell phones instead of playing in the NFL right now. Well, then again, there’s always basketball. Take it to the rack, Ross man!

Mandel’s Take:
I couldn’t agree more, Rev. What’s more puzzling is that the Bills have now moved Hardy to split end. I get the Evans move to flanker, but splitting Hardy out wide when he lacks the burst needed to play that position seems short-sighted. Then again, the Buffalo coaches don’t have to worry—when that square-peg experiment fails, they’ll just blame TO for being a team killer.
