Last year, Andy Reid gladly missed the cattle call of Senior Bowl week.
This year, however, he was stranded in Philadelphia - like thousands of other Northeast travelers - by yesterday's weather problems and ultimately decided to cancel his plans to scout potential draftees.
Eagles president Joe Banner, who was also scheduled to fly South, also did not make the trip, according to a team spokesman. The team was represented by its scouts, and vice president of player personnel Howie Roseman, who could be named the next general manager sometime soon, is still expected to attend.
While Reid had surely hoped to get an early firsthand look at some players in the next draft class, unlike last year, when the NFC championship game prevented that, he still has some housekeeping to do in terms of his staff.
The team announced yesterday that secondary coach Brian Stewart had taken the defensive coordinator job at the University of Houston after a brief stint with the Eagles. Stewart came to the Eagles last June, several months after he was fired as the defensive coordinator with the Cowboys. Full Story
