The Falcons acquired TE Tony Gonzalez from the Chiefs in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Mandel's Take: What a great move by Atlanta. Falcons fans must be saying, "So THIS is what it's like to have a good GM!" Kudos, Mr. Dimitroff. I'm not saying Kansas City got fleeced; they had to get something for Gonzalez. He was going to retire before the Chiefs were good again and the longer Pioli waited, the less Gonzalez was worth. Atlanta was pro-active and it's paid off: they filled a need AND kept all of their picks this year. Gonzalez might not be the man he was five years ago, but the change of scenery and playing with Matt Ryan is going to turn the clock back for him. After playing in hell for so long the former Chief has a chance to make a Super Bowl. Think about it--who's the favorite in the NFC if not Atlanta? Aren't you all tired of saying "Dallas" and realizing after the season how dumb a choice that was? Rev--talk to me. Aren't they going to thrive in the ATL with this acquisition?
