Lynch Appeals Three-Game Suspension

According to an AP report, Bills running back Marshawn Lynch has filed an appeal with the NFL contesting his suspension without pay for the first three games of this coming season. The NFL confirmed Thursday that an appeal was filed but did not provide details, including when the appeal might be heard. Lynch's agent, Doug Hendrickson, was not immediately available. Lynch was suspended last month for violating the league's personal conduct policy after he pleaded guilty in March to a misdemeanor gun charge in Los Angeles.

Mandel's Take: Lynch was busted in a car, with a loaded gun that belonged to him. There was also marijuana present and although he's only being charged with a misdemeanor gun violation, the League still has the right to lower the boom on Lynch. It's not as if this is the first problem Lynch has had recently; less than a year ago Lynch hit a woman with his car and fled the scene. The appeal is pretty standard stuff, but I highly doubt that Roger Goodell is going to consider reducing Lynch's suspension, nor should he. Does this punishment fit the crime(s), Rev? Testify!

Mancini's Take:
I guess Lynch doesn't realize how lucky he was to come out of his ordeal with only a three-game suspension. If it were up to me, I'd give him the entire year off to ruminate over his childish and irresponsible behavior. This kid has a lot to learn, Ross man.
